The Background

                                                  Signet is the holding company of the well-known high street jewellers H. Samuel and Ernest Jones.  

Signet required a strategic order management system (OMS) which they could use to support the delivery of all of their multi-channel programmes (online, shops, mail order). The system was required to deliver a multi-channel proposition to the customer, providing the functionality to manage and track their orders and special orders both online and on the high street. The solution also needed to allow for dedicated special customer orders to be effectively managed and delivered.  

Signet asked CVL to evaluate proposed customer OMS solutions.

The CVL Solution

CVL conducted research and analysis into Signet's strategic requirements in order to scope out an effective solution. This included conducting several initial workshops with key senior management personnel from Signet, delving into the company's goals and aspirations.

CVL then researched and identified twenty potential solution vendors, and short listed three for consideration by Signet.

CVL managed the tendering process in partnership with Signet, producing the RFP document, coordinating site visits and preparing the scoring model for potential suppliers.

CVL also produced a final findings report with an executive summary.

The Benefits

Signet was able to progress with the OMS solution with the utmost confidence in their selected vendor. CVL also coached senior members of the company in the process so that they could undertake it themselves in the future.

Signet has achieved higher customer satisfaction as a result of the new solution, by offering a completely transparent order tracking service online and from any store. Store and online will soon become seamless for the company, including a service to allow customers to order online and collect in-store.
