The Background

emap developed a plan to launch a locally-oriented online jobs service in Manchester as an initial pilot, with a view to national expansion.
 
The initiative’s goal is to have the highest number of relevant jobs for individual jobseekers in its target demographic, achieved by merging listings that are fragmented across the paid-for services into one site.

The CVL Solution

CVL provided day-to-day project management and business expertise, while liaising with both internal and external vendors to provide the appropriate solutions for this new business venture.

The project was particularly challenging in terms of timescales, as at the time of initiation in May 2007 there were only 6 months until the prime New Year’s recruitment cycle.

By this deadline, the following had to be achieved:

- A fully functional sales and marketing team of 15-20 people, recruited externally from scratch, fully trained and operational
- The jobsite vendor chosen, designed and implemented
- A CRM/Sales Automation tool selected, designed and implemented
- A full marketing strategy in place
- A new office, set up and fully operational

The CVL project manager in conjunction with key business representatives was able to co-ordinate the necessary personnel and requirements in order to deliver a successful solution, both on time and on budget.
