The Background
With acquisitions including Easynet and MySpace, BSkyB expanded its new media operations significantly during 2005/06. However, the absence of a clear set of new media delivery procedures led to a significant backlog of projects.
CVL was tasked with identifying areas within BSkyB’s business and IT divisions where the delivery process could be improved – and highlighting recommendations for a delivery process.
“CVL were asked to review and offer improvements in the way New Media projects were delivered within BSkyB. With a combination of their knowledge, experience, energy and drive they helped us improve the delivery capability of the organisation.”
Tom Symonds, Internet
Director, BSkyB.

The CVL Solution
CVL consolidated a view of the key issues in the business and IT divisions into key findings, which were then communicated to the management teams together with recommendations for a delivery process.
CVL created an example New Media delivery model, example artefacts, and a roadmap for process implementation.
The Benefits
Following CVL's audit and recommendations, BSkyB saw improved workflow between the business and IT divisions. The process removed role duplication and streamlined documentation - as well as provided redefined project roles and responsibilities for the teams.
Ultimately, the CVL project has led to improved delivery performance of new media for BSkyB.
