The Background

CME, the leading television broadcaster in Central and Eastern Europe, needed to establish a best-practice project management structure to support their fast-growing web development team in Slovenia (Pop TV).

The CVL Solution

CVL provided two highly experienced hands-on project managers to work closely with Pop TV’s staff, leading by example within the organisation. Their brief was to run a best practice process improvement programme whilst simultaneously delivering a demanding schedule of projects.

Whilst challenging, this provided Pop TV with a powerful combination of theory and practice. Concepts such as requirements analysis and agile development were covered in tailored training workshops whilst, in parallel, carefully selected techniques and processes were introduced into in-flight projects. Where appropriate, the new ways of working were supported by example documents such as project briefs, wireframes and KPIs.

Most importantly, CVL restructured the department so that new ways of working could be introduced at the team level and to help breakdown the peer pressure that had been reinforcing bad habits.

The Benefits

In a four month period CVL delivered six projects successfully and put a further seven projects onto a sounder footing. This included delivery of the full online content for three television shows within just one month, the fastest in the company’s history.

Additionally, Pop TV now has a web development team which is well structured for growth and an assortment of techniques and processes in place to aid improved project delivery.
